As Thanos becomes master of the universe, he becomes fate itself. ![]() Thanos, through villainy, elevates himself to a higher level, embracing absolute freedom and becoming a literal God. A Titan’s Fallįollowing Luigi Pareyson‘s analysis of Dostoevskji, Thanos unites the concepts of God and freedom through evil. This urge to metaphorically die, to give up the Infinity Gauntlet, will give the heroes an opportunity to defeat him. The Death Drive is a major part of Thanos’ character. At the same time, Thanos knows he’s unworthy of the power he holds and unconsciously tries to relinquish it. He sexually craves Death and her rejection frustrates him. Life and Death are constantly at odds within Thanos. In fact, Thanos is in love with Death, who, in the Marvel universe, is an actual woman, beautiful and yet terrible. Starlin puts Thanos in a rivalry with his brother Eros. Like Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Thanos embodies Freudian concepts of Life and Death Drives. The writer reversed the idea of a benevolent God and introduced an evil counterpart. In 1991, Starlin created the mad Titan using his Catholic upbringing and the psychology studies he attended. Even People who don't play video games can follow along and immerse themselves in this story which is something special. What if God was evil? This was the question Jim Starlin asked himself when writing the ambitious crossover event. Most games I would recommend to buy on sale, but this is different because of the production value found here. ![]() This is an amazing first time user experience, but I haven't found much replay value unless you're willing to give the story another go on the hardest difficulty (having to replay through story sections is tedious unlike games such as Dark Souls where a Player can go at what ever pace they want, this game is designed for the first time user experience). My only criticism is that the gameplay can start off feeling like it's missing something - only allowing the Player a few options to combo enemies - but without spoilers, it will eventually pick up the pace and turn into a very combo driven game, especially on higher difficulties where it's recommended to stun lock foes before they get a chance to hit you (unless they've got poise, in which case dodge). Also no micro-transactions or DLC holding back story content, this is a complete game from start to finish right out of the box. The visuals are also pleasing to the eye, the art direction is fantastic and not a lot of newer games of this AAA scale delve into the greek mythology, I bought this game mostly to see how they handled creating these areas and I feel they exceeded my expectations. Tons of side activities which can increase the power of Kratos with new gear and experience points, if you're having a hard time with the main story I would recommend to go off the main path and explore. After finishing the main story the characters still have things to say and there are more locations to explore even if the locations are a bit smaller than the other areas. After finishing the main story the Everything from the soundtrack, gameplay, and story make this game worth playing if you're a PS4 owner.
